Cultural Siege - Palestinian contemporary art installation

Produced in my garden in northern Gaza, this artwork incorporates an orange, a potent cultural symbol of Palestine, renowned for its orange exports prior to the Nakba and the 1948 occupation. The iron screw embedded within symbolizes the ongoing occupation and siege on Gaza since 2006. This tree, which was 60 years old, provided us with oranges for many decades. Unfortunately, it was destroyed along with my house in the recent bombardment of Gaza.

The artwork comes framed in a sleek 1.5 cm thick black wooden frame with a clear glass cover for protection and display.
